Siltation
Animals constantly ate trees, grass, and plants from hillsides. This caused silt and gravel to wash down hillsides, creating flooding and siltation. You can imagine how badly silted rivers effected the living of citizens who were depending on the water for crops, animals, and everyday use. Also, the runoff from hillsides that increased the silt, messed up the flow of water for agricultural areas. These floods from silt, caused a disruption in the natural springs and siltation increased in harbor areas and caused more river deltas to be formed. This caused a need for harbors to be relocated and created more difficulties for the economy.
