Poetry-
In attempts to describe the mystic of the Dao and the structure (and in most
cases the lack thereof) of the philosophy, many Taoist scholars resorted to
poetry to convey these principles. Daoism created a surge in literary arts and
poetry was the most sensible outlet of such ideas. The bulk of the poetry
produced was very mystical and left room for a great deal of individual
interpretation by the reader. Seeing as how a key principle of Daoism was that
the Dao can’t be described, mystic and lure was used to convey most, if not
all, ideas.
