Africa Ancestor Worship
Ancestor worship was very traditional in Africa. Traditions in Africa consist of rituals to the ancestors. Sacrifices and prayers are offered to the ancestors that may sometime become a minor deity or given a power. Tribes look upon their ancestors in the time of need or for answers. Prayers are given in return for the ancestors. There are large quantities of different techniques for ancestor worship. One consist the corpse of a king laid on a stool. The stool was carved out for the king to use his whole life until death. Once life has left the body, the body is sat on the stool, that is now blackened to be kept at the burial, to be bathed. The blackened stool is now the shrine of the ancestor. Families believe that their ancestors receive a divine power and are later reincarnated.
