Middle East
Political- Christendom with many crusades occurred led by Europe, to expand Christianity. The crusades were ordered by the pope and occurred in 1100-1300 A.D. Many battles broke out over religious supremacy in many different regions. Many of the Christian kingdoms, tried to invade many areas where the religion Islam was present. Muhammad was born in 570 A.D. in Mecca. He created the religion Islam after he had seized Mecca, with the many followers he gained.
Economy- Money and trade in the Middle East was very important. It caused many sparks in advancement in different regions. The price for gold and silver was very high. Silver was rare to obtain until the 15th century. Though much of China had luxurious items that regions in the Middle East craved. Much trade in the Middle East came from China and may other regions in the area.
Religion- Religion was a huge impact on many regions in the Middle East. Islam was created when Muhammad attacked Mecca and gained control of the city. He was said to be a prophet from God and ascended into heaven at Mecca. Later in the years, the crusades unleashed terror and chaos within the Middle East. Sent by the Pope, the crusaders conquered cities in the Middle East that practiced Islam. Islamic population reduced while Christianity increased.
Society- Genders were important in this time period, for women were given more respect by men. Unlike China, women in the Middle East had more power than those up North. Women had to wear veils, so men could be protected from the temptations of sin by the woman. Social classes remained in areas of the Middle East and were not as strict and enforcing like South Asia. Merchants were well respected and appreciated for much trade they brought to the region.
Innovations- Math in the Middle East during the time period was tremendous. It advanced over the years and some of it is the math we use today. Some of the math was used to calculate many formulas in the fields of Science. Some were used to calculate theories that would explain the creation of the heavens above and give knowledge to mankind.
Art/architecture- Architecture in the Middle East was unique. Many of the shapes and pattern were created with the materials from China. Much trade occurred with the Middle East and China for structural advancement. Numerous building materials created by China, were used in religious buildings and sculptures in the Middle East.

People in the Middle East developed an immunity to the hot, dense climate. Also the mountainous terrain prevented many invasions from occurring. Geography was truly a great impact in the Middle East.
