Latin America
P: By the start of the 1500's the only remaining civilization of the 3 that really thrived in Latin America were the Inca(for a very brief period of time) and the Aztecs. In the years from 1519-1521 the Spanish Entered into the Aztec capital Tenochtitlan (now Mexico City) and dazzled the Aztecs with their Gold and Guns. The Aztecs believed them to be gods and pretty much handed their powerful empire to them. Through the 250 years the amount of natives decreased drastically because of the harsh work conditions they were under. The Spanish colonies in a Latin America were ruled from Spain through officials of high class in Latin America.
E: The changes in Latin Americas economic system were like day and night from the beginning of the the 1500s to the end of the 1750s. In the 1500s there were no African slaves in Latin America. The powers of Western Europe shaped the economic system of Latin America exactly the way they wanted to since it was brand new. They made it a trading powerhouse trading with South Asia extensively. The gold and silver also found in Latin America made the Europeans vastly rich.
R: Many of the Laws in Latin America were based around Religious beliefs. The Spanish brought missionaries from Spain to convert the native people to their Catholic beliefs. Spanish missionaries used forceful methods of converting people to Catholicism and by the mid 18th century 90 percent of the population had a belief system based on Catholicism.
S: Society in "The New World" was Identical to that of "The Old World" There were social classes based on family background, and wealth. Also, Spaniards that were born in the mainland or Peninsulars were more highly regarded than those who were Spanish but born in the new world. Spanish often mixed with the natives and resulted in Mexicans.
I: The emergence of the nation-state, the cleavage of the Christian church by the Protestant Reformation, the Renaissance and its accompanying scientific revolution, and the overseas expansion of European states all had interactions with rising technology. This expansion was possible after the advance in naval technology opened up the ocean routes to the West. The conversion of voyages of discovery into imperialism and colonization was made possible by the new firepower. The combination of light, maneuverable ships with the firepower of iron cannon gave Europeans a vast advantage, enhanced by other technological assets.
